WHAT?! NOOOOOOOOO!

Okay...before I type out the notes I was taking while watching the season finle of The Mentalist...I just have to get this out of my system real quick

*deep breath* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Can I just say...I don't believe that. Nope, nope. The writers are pulling one over on me. Curse them. No...I still...I just want my theory to be right. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how the rest of the show plays out. Maybe next fall will be the final season of The Mentalist.
Okay, tantrum over, here are the notes I took. They are very scattered as I just wrote random thoughts while watching the episode, but hey, it works.

Here we go...

From the start I'm suspicious of Jane's behavior. He could be breaking or he could just be acting like he is breaking. I think the latter is more likely.

He punched that cop on purpose.

Six months is a good amount of time to establish a cover. He wants to draw Red John out, turning the tables on him.

This can't end well. Red John would kill this girl just for falling in love with Jane. Also, Lisbon walking alone at night...she's crazy.

The girl...I think she might be a trick. Yep...literally 5 seconds after writing that she admits that she is a friend of Red John's. Saw that one coming ha ha.

Does Lisbon know Red John? Nah.

I knew it! He IS faking his breakdown.

Luther is talking about ane and thinking of doing a little outreach (which is EXACTLY what Red John is doing). Lisbon's words surprise him when she says Jane needs to be left alone.

Red John wants Teresa Lisbon's dead body. Interesting when combined with his encounter with Lisbon before.

Luther is surprised to see Jane when he leaves the elevator. I think Jane is going to fake Lisbon's death.

"Goo luck, Teresa. Love you." :)

It's a plan, all of it is. Rigsby is not dead, that's the John Doe.

Luther is suspicious of the whole thing. That FBI lady is back too. I don't trust her. She is going to mess things up somehow. She is going to go to Luther with this and that can't be good.

Shoot...they are getting arrested.

Red John has a good friend in the FBI. Found out when they did.

It's a decoy (the car) he won't be in there.

OH. MY. GOSH!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Curse them. I wanted it to be him so bad. I still want to think it's him, like he's not really dead. Why didn't he struggle more, try to warn Jane? I really hope/want to believe we haven't seen the last of Luther Wainright. That seemed too...I don't know, rushed and weird. They didn't lead up to it at all, it was just suddenly Luther in the car bleeding. Nothing to suggest how they got a hold of him etc. If Luther isn't Red John he is still involved somehow and probably still alive...but I still really really really really want him to be Red John. Nothing will satisfy me after my brilliant theory. I am so disappointed right now. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH. Well...we'll just wait and see. I hope they don't make me wait a whole entire other season for new revelations (big ones). Dumb writers. :/ You know what...you know what...I'm writing the rest of the episodes for them and they will ALL be about Red John. Yep...it's a plan.

Dear old Red John

I am now sitting down at my computer to view tonight's episode of The Mentalist. The promo for it has shown a lot of promise for more Red John clues seeing as Patrick will, once again, be going up against his nemesis. I am going to write this post as I am watching the episode so spoiler alert for anyone who has not seen it yet. Ready for excitement? Ready for Red John? Alright...lets begin. :)

jane and haleyOkay, this is just at the very start and it's a small thing, but the little girl in the grave yard feels like a small clue to me. Children can be very trusting but, at her age, they also know not to talk to strangers or get in their cars so they can bring them to graveyards. It would make a lot of sense, however, if the girl trusted him because he was a cop. Children know to trust policemen and authority figures (even if that's not always the best thing for them...especially when that authority figure is a serial killer in disguise).
Okay, pausing again (5 seconds later). Since when does Luther show up to a crime scene? He also says that "Red John or someone claiming to be Red John" brought the girl to the grave yard. If he goes over to the girl and she doesn't recognize Luther then I would say it was the later. Red John has a lot of followers to hide behind. Jane upsets Wainright when he hypnotizes the girl so she won't remember and then threatens him to not question her. He might be mad that Jane is acting in a way not according to his plan or he's just playing the part.

So after Jane burns the Red John files, Wainright and Lisbon are talking out in the hall. He says he thinks it was a cry for help and he just wants to "find out what the issue is." I don't have much on that but I feel like it could be important. They are both talking to Jane now so I'll resume and get back to you on that one. Okay, so Jane says "He's [Red John] right. It's time to give up." and Luther says "Seriously?" Not sure why but him responding like that seems weird for some reason, like he's digging. I think Jane just wants to throw out the idea that he is off the scent to see what Red John does. As he is saying all this, Luther is standing quiet in the background, watching him carefully. Of course it could just be a concerned boss, or it could be Red John trying to work out what Patrick's game is.

Okay so we don't see Wainright again until after the investigation for this episode has ended. Lisbon is taking Jane there now so maybe there will be some more tidbits to add before this post comes to an end along with the episode. Jane: "Yes, I crossed the line. I had to in order to get Marks. If you don't get the bad guy then what's the point of all this." Luther: he doesn't say anything but there is an interesting and confusing look on his face that I can't translate at this moment. Then, when Lisbon suggests he take a time out, Luther suspends him and then angrily says that he will personally recommend that he not ever be allowed back as a consultant. This is interesting to me. Luther is reacting strangely. It's almost as if Red John wants to take away the one thing Jane would keep in his life so that he is forced to dwell on him again. Then when Jane insults him, he gets so angry he runs at Jane, ready to attack him. That kind of anger in a man like Luther Wainright is either acted out for the benefit of the unsuspecting people around him...or it's based off of more than a few insults and one bad move on Jane's part. There is something far deeper going on inside that man's mind.

I'm not sure what Jane being fired will bring and I was hoping there was going to be a lot more Red John stuff in this episode than there was, but it still told me a lot. I was suspicious of Luther from the start but as we have come along, I've gotten even more so. He is present in episodes and moments that he isn't necessarily needed in and now this sudden attention to him and his anger at Jane (especially since he has been patientand accepting of Jane's behavior up until now)...the writers want him in there more than many of the other bosses have ever been. Luther is an important piece to the Red John puzzle and I am still inclined to believe that he is THE MOST important piece.

I'm pulling this from the Mentalist wiki because I found it interesting and it ties into this episode in particular: "He has fascination with Jane -- to the point where he would risk getting caught to see what Jane will do. Red John is a major narcissist and is extremely angered by people acting like they know him, even more so by those who lie about him, which was clearly shown when he killed Jane's w Jane was insulting him, acting like he knew him by calling him a "mama's boy" etc. That is one of the things that angers Red John. As for the other part, the idea of risking getting caught to see Jane's reactions, that is something that made me suspect that Red John would stop using pawns and move into the game himself (one of the reasons I find that Luther would be an excellent candidate for Red John).

Adding more from the wiki: "His known accomplices have mostly been closet psychopaths who are able to appear completely normal, but all have some sort of criminal past. This to the point that Jane even refers to John's accomplishes as "Disciples". Once again, Luther's past in psychology kicks in as well as his connections to the criminal world through law enforcement. He is very good at convincing people to do what he wants them to...to trust him.

"Red John is also extremely intelligent (again like Jane), as seen from his being able to hack into theCBIcomputers and watch the agents' actions for quite some time without being detected. He can also set up phony companies and bank accounts to keep his identity a secret. Finally, Red John is a master manipulator, which is evident in his ability to get people to trust him (as seen with his accomplices)." Luther is a smart young man and he has the proper training and connections to accomplish all these things whilst remaining undetected.

If you want to read more from Red John's entry on the wiki, go here: http://thementalist.wikia.com/wiki/Red_John

Until the next update, dream of Red John. :)

Oh Auditions, how I've forgotten you

It's been a long time since I have auditioned for anything. In fact...the last time was almost two years ago (right after I graduated college) when I jumped right into the shark tank and auditioned to be in the Denver Center of Performing Arts company. I should have known it was too soon for such a huge leap.

I signed up to audition for a performance of Godspell, at the Cadlelight Playhouse in Loveland, just a few days ago. The audition is on Monday...in another couple of days. I am terrified out of my wits and yet, I am excited. It has been so long since I've done any Theatre and I miss it so very much. I don't know if I'll make this show or not but no worries. I am working on an only slightly secret theatre-like project involving Shakespeare that I'll have to keep me happy this summer. If I do make it into Godspell, I'll have my hands full trying to do this project as well but I am committed. It is a role I have always wanted to play and seeing as no one around is doing the play...I am going to put it on myself. I know...I'm probably a bit insane for wanting to take this on.

Just to give you an idea about how excited I am about this project, I should tell you a few things. One, I have already worked out a plan for how things will be run (audition wise and what not), I have already pretty much memorized all of my lines, I've made a blog/youtube for the recorded version since this will be the first in hopefully many performances to come, and I've designed a poster for the play. If my plans fall through...I will be a very sad person indeed. Of course, I will pick myself up and try another route (kickstarter) within a few minutes of my failure. The show MUST go on...for my sake and for my sanity's sake.

This will, hopefully, be a fun and theatre filled spring/summer. I guess I should get back to memorizing my audition monologue now (it would help if I didn't keep changing my mind about which monologue I wanted to do). Talk to ya later nerds!

Mentalist theory update (a small one)

Spoilers (of course).

So Agent Darcy is going to try and prove Jane to be a follower of Red John huh? Well she has her work cut out for her. More importantly, however, why did Jane's boss react so strangely? He laughed when she called Jane a psychopath but then when she accused Jane of working with Red John he seemed more reserved and somewhat amused. Of course he then calmly says he will cooperate fully. His reactions to these situations are always so strange and they keep bringing him back into things when he isn't entirely needed there as the boss. I don't doubt my theory as of yet, it still stands. If you don't yet know what my theory is and you want to know, the following are the few posts I have made so far involving this theory. It's ordered from the most recent post to the first post (the actual theory).

Time Lord Vortex

I declare that YouTube is a fascinating and dangerous place that exists both within and without time...in other words I think I'm only watching a few cat videos and then five hours later (after watching basically every cat video in existence)...my brain has melted and I have ceased to exist.

I have just pulled myself out of one of the most dangerous worm holes one could ever fall in. I got sucked into a David Tennant vortex for over 3 hours (possibly over 4...I lost track of time). It started with Doctor Who scenes, then interviews, then behind the scenes stuff, then comedy show appearances, then stuff about his other stuff, then it all lead to Much Ado About Nothing and digitaltheatre.com. I would have only been at it for maybe just an hour and a half (since I was originally just watching the Doctor Who stuff) if I hadn't stumbled on one short video that sent me to the entire show it was taken from. This...was that video.

It was over from there. I couldn't stop myself from clicking on all the videos in the side bar and at the end of each clip. It was a David Tennant monsoon. Let me tell you, it was a tough vortex to climb out of but I'm glad I did cause my head is starting to hurt and everything I think is spoken in his voice in my head...everything. As I say the words I am typing now in my mind...I hear him speaking them in his outrageously amazing accent. I can't get enough of the man. Oh dear...if you don't hear from me again for a while...the vortex sucked me back in tomorrow.

Well, back to YouTube for my daily subscriptions...I can only hope I don't see another David Tennant video in the sidebar that I haven't already watched.

Alons-y!

Red John theory - updates galore

This update was written as I watched the show (I paused it in order to write thoughts before continuing onward) so some thoughts develop and build on each other as I go and some bits may seem a bit choppy but I tried to clean them up a bit and make them easier to read. Here we go.

Red John theory update 2/2/2012

The fact that agent Darcy is sitting in Wainwright's, office telling him that she is going to keep investigating The Panzer Murder (Red John) is enough to make me suspicious. I have a good bad feeling about this situation. :) He seems calm, cool, and complying but also a bit nervous. Something is going to happen. Red John is going to know because she is telling him straight out. This should be a fun game for him. Also the fact that they have to show this scene of her telling Wainright (when we don't see him often anyway) brings more suspicion on him. They had to invent a seminar he was going to teach (that Lisbon was going to attend) so they could have an easier transfer from Pattrick's call to get Lisbon out of the seminar to Wainright and his meeting with Darcy.

Wainwright is putting together all the Red John files that are available and he is being super secretive (he shuts the blinds). As he signs it over to the guy who is to hand it over to the FBI agent he says: “I want you to listen to me very closely. This is a highly sensitive issue. You are not to talk to anybody about this. Do you understand? No one.” The man replies: “Yes sir, whatever you say.” Wainright then goes on to say: “Okay if somebody comes looking for the Red John case files or asks where they've gone, you are to inform me immediatley. I cannot express enough the importance that this remain secret.”

Agent Lisbon walks in when he finishes his sentence and he starts acting nervous. He then gets short with her and the man (who she is chatting with), cuts off their conversation and says “okay, that's enough, back to work.” He then looks angrily at Lisbon as the guy leaves. “Did I call for you?” She explains how she wanted to appologize for missing the seminar earlier. He ignores that and then says: “Would it be too much to ask you to schedule a regular meeting rather than barging in here like this?”

Luther is very much on edge. He then has to calm himself down and act personable again as he asks her how the case is going and says he'd like to catch up on it. Again, that look on his face as she leaves...I don't know, it seems to say that he knows he let his temper slip and he's wondering how this will play out later. Then he walks over to the pile of boxes with all the evidence and puts his hand on it as the screen goes to black.

Note: Why does he need 45 minutes before he goes to hear about/catch up on their case). What if he took something from the case files?

Luther then goes and acts interested in their case but once he gets a call, he leaves them too it and runs off. It's Agent Darcy (the caller). She says she got the files and asks if he told “his people" about it and he says: “No, I saw no need.” So the FBI didn't say not to tell anyone...he just chose not to. He is very grave, serious, and distracted right now. He seems to have been just acting like he wanted to be caught up with the case to distract Lisbon from his anger earlier. Honestly this could all just be their boss trying to keep them out of trouble (as he knows what Red John does to Jane) but I don't think that's it. He doesn't seem all that surprised and adamant against the fact that Red John could be alive and that he killed Panzer.

Darcy goes to talk to the M.E. at the morgue where Jane brought the blind girl to see if the guy he killed was Red John. He tells her the visit was odd as the girl was blind. She was confused by this. They keep making a big deal of not spreading the word (as she tells the M.E. not to tell anyone and he complies) which means that the word is going to spread (or already has) to Red John. Red John is going to know which will tell us, yet again, that he has connections and that he is very very close to this case. In my mind, that means that dear old Wainwright, as I felt at the very end of his first episode/appearance on this show, is Red John.

Susan Darcy goes to talk to Roselyn Harker (the blind girl). Roselyn was checking to find out if the man was her friend Roy. Darcy now knows the dead guy wasn't Roy.

Roselyn calls Jane and tells him that Roy came to see her. Roy is freaking at her house when she calls! (sorry...got a tad excited) Roselyn says he says to tell him, and the Darcy woman, that this was all a mistake and that “he's going to clear it all up.” His hands are young, you can't see his face or much of his build, as he sits in the high backed chair where you can't really see even his hair, but you can see his hands. They are young, so he's not an old man though I could already tell that from a much earlier episode where, though he disguised it, you could hear youth in his voice. He doesn't speak, of course, as he sits in the chair. If Jane doesn't know him why would he not speak (or disguise his voice like last time)? He has a familiar voice to hide from Jane. Also, the fact that he only mentions Darcy and not Jane's boss (when he mentions that he wants Jane and the Darcy girl to know he is going to clear things up) that brings more suspicion to Wainwright.

Jane went to go and get the FBI (after the call) and they go to the house. Roy left as soon as he found out Jane was coming, he isn't there. But, there's blood leaking out from under one of the doors. The morgue attendant is dead in the closet. Oh my my my only a few people would know about this, about the morgue visit and the fact that the guy remembered it. >:) This is getting juicy.

Remember that feeling I mentioned in the post when I first established this theory (the feeling I got when I just suddenly knew it was Luther)? That feeling is back. The last few episodes haven't had much Red John evidence nor have they really shown Wainwright very much (which is odd cause they tend to usually show the bosses a lot more, or at least it seems like they did but maybe not). Because of this, I've felt rather normal watching the shows and no excitement over my theory. This episode re-ignited the fire. I am as sure as ever that Luther is Red John.

Too bad...he's kind of cute (which actually makes the idea of him being Red John all the more fun for some reason).

Say no to SOPA and PIPA!

White Collar and Blue Collar

Last night was the mid-season premier of two of my favorite shows and I watched them both back to back. The first was White Collar which is continuing it's 3rd Season after a long hiatus.
The other show was the first episode of Season 3 for Justified.
Both episodes were thoroughly enjoyable. In White Collar, Burke gets to see Neal show his true colors when he finds out that he chose him and the FBI over the treasure. Definitely a heart warming moment there and the exciting thing about it is that Neal receives a letter telling him there will be a hearing in 3 months to discuss his release from the anklet. He could finally be free and I think he should be. The episode itself also resolved a lot of problems for everyone...though I kind of doubt that we won't ever see Keller again, he's too fun to hate.

In Justified, we find that Raylan, once again, ends up shooting someone in the season premiere. Even though he's on light duty (due to the gunshot he sustained in last seasons's finale) he ends up getting in trouble with an assassin. Good old Raylan, we always know he's going to shoot someone dead even when his shoulder is injured and he is significantly less good at shooting due to that fact. Also, he gets in a fight with Boyd but that's no surprise at all.

I really enjoyed both episodes and I'm extremely excited for the coming season for both.

Red John theory update

Alrighty, new update. It is a very small one but an update none the less.

In tonight's episode of The Mentalist, there is a development involving Red John and an FBI agent looking into the case of James Panzer who appears to have been killed by a Red John copycat (though we know it's the real Red John). The CBI is sent a stalking video of the FBI woman and Jane knows it is Red John playing with him. The clue I find in this one is that the FBI agent comes asking Jane and the CBI about James Panzer and Red John and that very night this video and message from someone (someone Jane knows is Red John) is sent. Obviously it is someone with eyes and ears within law enforcement (more than likely the CBI) or they would not have known about the FBI woman's involvement so quickly. Granted she has spoken to other agencies (like the one where Lisbon's old partner works) but it is still all within law enforcement. Even if he did find out through other sources, the fact that he waited until the FBI agent came to talk to Jane about it (before stalking her and playing with him) means he knew exactly what day she had come to see Jane. This tells me that my theory still stands strong.

Of course Jane had to do some questionable things to get the FBI agent to close the case without revealing Red John's existance and Red John is, no doubt, going to have something in store for Jane for taking the fun he was going to have messing with him and the FBI woman so there will be plenty more to glean from the coming episodes. Looking forward to some more evidence and revelations about this illusive and crafty killer.

Demigod Ponies

Look at these freaking adorable ponies. One represents Camp Half-Blood (the Greek camp) and one represents Camp Jupiter (the Roman camp). So cute. I'll definitely be using them in some videos and comics.

Some confessions

Alright, so it has been a little while since my last post and a few things have entered my life and become obsessions since then. I've started watching some shows like Merlin and such, but there are two particular things that I am both hesitant and excited to tell you about.

One...Vampire Diaries.

I know I know...but it's so awesome! I honestly find this show extremely entertaining and the fact that a lot of the guys in it are super cute (really unrealistic for such a small town but I'm okay with that) only makes it better. There is one thing about this show that does bug me a little...I feel like every episode could be a season finale. I do like how they keep the action going and new things are always happening, but when every episode has a cliff hanger at the end it tends to get exhausting to watch because you get four or five episodes deep when you only planned on watching one that night.

Sadly, that was the one confession I didn't want to make. You would think this next one would make me more hesitant...but I'm actually more excited to tell you guys this. I am officially a Brony. :D
This is my pony self. I created one for each of the girls in my YouTube collab channel and this one's mine. :) I have watched all the episodes of Friendship is Magic and I am dying for it to start up again. I even bought one of the episodes to put on my iPhone for my flight to North Carolina this last weekend. I am loving it. As a child I collected My Little Ponies and now I'm starting all over again with my Twilight Sparkle throw blanket and the carry on case I painted on for the trip. Behold...My Little Carry-On.

I am such a nerd...but that's okay cause so are you.
